Have always been a big fan of mauds ... It's been around for as long as I can remember and was always a treat on a Sunday afternoon when I was young.
Can get very busy on sunny days but that is to be expected.
You can sit in and eat or order coffee etc and they also have a large range of home made confectionary for sale . -

Great location on the seafront close to a play park and carpark. Nice wee sit in coffee and ice-cream shop with lots of different coffees, teas, hot chocolate and soft drinks available. More importantly the vast range of delicious homemade ice-cream...my favourite is pooh bear...but there are so many to choose from.
Only downside to this Mauds is that there is no public toilet or at least there wasn't last time I visited and children have been refused the use of staff toilets. Being an ice cream shop at a park and a popular attraction for kids I think this is really important. Paying customers who have to leave due to toddlers wetting themselves is never a good thing. -

There is no debate when it comes to the quality of ice cream here, the ice cream is absolutely delicious with Choccy Bear being my favourite. I have been here recently and had 2 very different experiences.
I went here with my friends children,2 little boys under the age of 4. We decided to sit inside. The boys were taking their time picking and I got the impression the girl that was serving us did not have the patience for this. The boys picked ice cream in cones but when we sat down they didn't want the cones so I went and asked for tub and spoons that I could put their ice cream in. The same girl that had served us pushed herself away from the counter, handed me tubs and spoons without as much as a smile never mind saying a single word. I did not enjoy this experience and was not made to feel very welcome with the kids,or at least that was my impression.
I have since been here again with another adult and although I was served by someone different, the service was a lot better, friendly and welcoming.
Love the ice cream but mixed bag when it comes to the service -

Great Ice cream and plenty of variety however the service in this store is hit or miss. The place can be busy so I know they work hard but manners cost nothing, a simple smile and thank you wouldnt go amiss with some of the staff.
But the ice cream is beautiful, choccy bear has to be the ultimate flavour ever!!!! A mixture of Belgian chocolate and Honeycomb, its a wee bowl of heaven
They serve tea/coffee, soft drinks and desserts and it is all very tasty, overlooking the seafront they have a nice location and the parking is good. Its also right across from the Pirate Playpark so plenty to keep children entertained. -

As far as I remember mauds ice cream is the best anywhere. I haven't tried all of th century flavours but the flavours I have tried were all great. Honey comb is probably the best flavour in my opinion. The staff in here have been friendly and professional any time I have visited.
